Knowing I’m going to be spending the 31st evening distracted and not contemplative, it’s weird reflecting on this year (or even, decade) now. It’s obvious how much can change in ten years — for that matter, in ten years I might be married, ten years ago I was a child — but even in this last year, how much ground I have traveled.
